DARN LAWYER Ugh, Geoff "Go Lions ... No Really" Brown has overtaken me in the third-place spot, thanks to his beloved team's Thanksgiving upset. Like me, Geoff had the good sense to pick the Lions over the Packers, but he gave them 15 confidence points, compared to my paltry 10. Oh well, that only means I have more points to score Sunday! We'll see how it goes ...

SILENT BUT DEADLY He likens himself to the 2001 Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, unimpressive by all measures except the only one that really matters. And so far, he fits the bill. Grogan's Heroes Kenny has not won the pool in a single week this season. (And given Thursday's performance, it doesn't look like he's about to win this week, either.) Yet, somehow, the Texan remains atop of the pack, angling to add his handle to the Hall of Champions. Can he do it? Who knows? All that's clear is this: So long as he stays in first place, he remains the One To Watch.

BRAGGING RIGHTS OK, just need to point out that my brilliant daughter, the Mighty Mighty Monniemoo, has skyrocketed these last few weeks, overtaking several of the adult poolers as well as Mac "I can throw the ball" Scagel. In the ever important Kiddy Pool, she now trails SuperBatman Ebin -- who's three years her senior -- by a mere 14 points. If this keeps up, I'm taking the kid to Vegas!

WEINKOPF.COM FOOTBALL POOL WEEK 12 UPDATE: GOD TAKES PITY ON FANS OF REPUGNANT TEAMS
He may blurry, and he may have lousy taste in football teams, but Rob "God is a Dallas Cowboys Fan" Hays topped the list in a fierce Week 12 in the Weinkopf.com Football Pool.
No time to post now, maybe more later. Till then, Happy Thanksgiving, and remember to get those picks in on time for Thursday's games!
Yours, Chris, the Mighty Mighty Pats Fan

THREE COMMENTS I won't weigh in on week 12 yet, as there's still a game to be played and the outcome in this pool in uncertain. But, here's three comments:
1. The Miami Dophins should have lost, if for no other reason than those are the ugliest uniforms ever.
2. Lots o' slackers around here -- what, like 5 poolers (including the perennial deadbeats) failed to turn in their picks.
3. And that, of course, leads us to this timely reminder: It's Thanksgiving week. That means the NFL will feature two games on Thursday. That means you need to get in all your picks before then. Don't say you weren't warned ...
Till later, Chris, the Mighty Mighty Pats Fan
